Inp.polri.go.id – Semarang. Central Java Regional Police have thwarted four truck containers of illegal vehicles from Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang City. Dozens of illegal vehicles that are not equipped with documents are planned to be sent to Timor Leste.
Special Criminal Investigation Director of Central Java Police, Grand Commissioner Johanson Ronald Simamora reveals there are three individuals named as supects.
The three suspects are RR, MAK, and XM. RR reportedly has been secured by the police, while MAK and XM is still on pursuit and have been listed in the wanted list.
“The case uncovering began on September 28th, 2023. We have received an information from the community that there was a two-wheeled vehicle and four-wheeled vehicle shipping. When we investigate the case, we found four containers,” explained Johanson on Tuesday (10/31/2023).
The four containers have also been secured by the police in Semarang. The containers initially were planned to deliver the illegal vehicles by sea from Tanjung Emas Port in Semarang on Monday (10/30/2023).
“The containers contained 72 illegal vehicles. There are eight four-wheeled vehicles and 64 two-wheeled vehicles,” he adds.
The three have their own roles with RR acts as the gatherer. On the other hand, MAK, a recidivist, acts as the vehicle smuggler to Timor Leste.
Lastly, XM acts as the medium. XM is a foreigner who received the illegal vehicles in Timor Leste.
The three suspects admit that one motorbike will be sold for IDR 11 million, while pick-up cars will be sold for IDR 140 million, same goes for Toyota Rush. The items were ordered by XM in Timor Leste by Down Payment (DP).
