Inp.polri.go.id - Bekasi. The ClassImmigration Office in West Java’s Bekasi revealed the involvement of sponsor networks behind illegal foreign worker permits, following the discovery of 78 undocumented workers at a data center project in Cikarang.
“Some sponsors refuse to cooperate when held accountable. Those who fail to comply face administrative sanctions, including permanent blocking of their visa application accounts,” said Immigration Head Anggi Wicaksono on Sunday (25/5/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com..
Investigators found evidence of organized schemes using shell companies and split documentation to disguise foreign workers, particularly linked to a project involving Chinese citizens. Offices listed as sponsors were found empty, existing only on paper.
Bekasi Immigration has deported 23 foreigners in the first quarter of 2026 and handled 139 immigration violations, including 21 overstay cases. Officials emphasized continued enforcement to dismantle illegal sponsorship networks and protect Indonesia’s immigration system.
