Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Bekasi Metropolitan Sub-regional Police uncovered an illegal cosmetics operation run from a residential home in Pondok Ungu Permai, Babelan,  using tapioca flour to produce fake "GlowGlowing" skincare products.

“The business was led by suspect SP, an untrained online seller who mixed ingredients based on YouTube videos,” said Bekasi Police Chief Senior Superintendent Mustofa on Tuesday (27/5/2025),a s quoted by antaranews.com

SP and seven employees—paid Rp1.5–2 million monthly—were arrested and named as suspects. The counterfeit products were sold on major e-commerce platforms like Shopee and Lazada for Rp 50,000–150,000, far below the genuine product prices of Rp 150,000–300,000.

Police said the suspects deliberately used a popular brand name to attract customers and generate quick profits, bypassing all health and safety standards.

The operation violated multiple laws, including Law No. 17/2023 on Health, Law No. 20/2016 on Trademarks, and the Criminal Code, carrying a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison and a Rp 5 billion fine.
