Inp.polri.go.id - Bengkayang.  The Bengkayang Sub-regional Police are intensifying security measures along the Indonesia–Malaysia border in West Kalimantan,, particularly through Jagoi Babang Police Pffoce, a key official crossing point.

Enhanced patrols, vehicle checks, and tighter monitoring of cross-border movement are being enforced, according to antaranews.com.

“We have deployed Jagoi Babang Police officers supported by the Samapta unit to carry out preventive measures on the ground,” said Bengkayang Police Chief Superintendent Syahirul Awab on Saturday (16/8/2025), while distributing Indonesian flags at the border to mark the nation’s 80th Independence Day.

He stressed that border areas are highly vulnerable to illegal trade, cross-border crimes, and threats to national stability. Strict and coordinated security is essential not only to safeguard sovereignty but also to present Indonesia’s image to its neighbor.

Authorities also urged local communities to take an active role by reporting suspicious activities and avoiding involvement in smuggling or other illicit cross-border practices.
