Inp.polri.go.id - Denpasar. The Denpasar Immigration Office has confirmed that a foreign investor in Bali, previously rumored to be an Israeli citizen, is in fact a German citizen.
“Based on our investigation, the person is a German citizen who entered Indonesia as an investor using a German passport, not an Israeli citizen,” said R. Haryo Sakti, the Head of Denpasar Immigration Office, on Saturday (16/8/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
He clarified that the person is not a member of the Israeli military but had once undergone compulsory military service while living in Israel for study.
Authorities verified that the investor’s immigration documents were valid with no indication of violations.
Viral social media posts showing the foreigner in military uniform were from his time completing mandatory service in Israel. Immigration urged caution, warning that unverified online claims could mislead law enforcement and the public.
