Inp.polri.go.id - Bengkulu. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) questioned Bengkulu’s incumbent Governor, Rohidin Mersyah, on the night of Saturday (23/11/2024) at the Bengkulu City Sub-regional Police Headquarters.
Governor Rohidin arrived at the facility around 10.50 pm in a convoy of three KPK vehicles.
Bengkulu Police Chief Senior Superintendent Deddy Nata confirmed, “Governor Rohidin has been brought here for questioning. We’re waiting for updates from the KPK.”
The KPK used a room at the police headquarters for the investigation, which also involved several other individuals.
Lawyers for those under investigation arrived but were denied entry.
“This is not a police-led operation; we’re only providing security. The KPK is in charge of the proceedings,” Chief Deddy explained, as reported by antaranews.com.
Earlier in the day, rumors circulated about a potential KPK sting operation, sparking local curiosity. Official details from the KPK are expected in due course.
