Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. President Prabowo Subianto and United Arab Emirates (UAE) President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, popularly known by his initials MBZ, have pledged to deepen their nations’ economic and strategic partnerships.
The agreement was made during a meeting at Qasr Al Watn, Abu Dhabi, on Saturday (23/11/2024).
President MBZ highlighted the significant progress in bilateral ties, particularly in trade, investment, and development.
“Our relationship has grown over the years, and I am proud of the milestones we’ve achieved. I am confident this partnership will continue to benefit our nations,” he said, as quoted by antaranews.com.
Non-oil trade between the two countries grew by 12% last year, reaching $4.6 billion, with a target of $10 billion set through comprehensive economic agreements and local currency transactions.
Discussions also covered collaboration in renewable energy, climate action, artificial intelligence, education, and food security.
President Prabowo outlined Indonesia’s priorities under his administration, emphasizing food and energy security, resource processing, and inviting UAE investment. “
He thanked the UAE’s support for Indonesia’s sovereign wealth fund (INA) and its humanitarian cooperation in Gaza.
The leaders agreed to strengthen coordination and accelerate the implementation of joint initiatives to promote global peace and progress.
