inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sudaryono, has closed 1,300 Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) that failed to meet food safety standards during his tenure as head of the MBG program.

"If they don't meet the standards in my system, then with a heavy heart I must close them permanently," Sudaryono said in Jakarta on Monday (8/17/2026).

The BGN took this decisive step to evaluate the food poisoning cases in Berastagi and to maintain the quality of nutrition for children in Indonesia.

He explained that organoleptic monitoring, such as smell and taste tests alone, is not sufficient to detect hazardous chemical contamination in food.

Therefore, the BGN plans to provide chemical test kits in every SPPG kitchen to detect toxins such as arsenic and food spoilage.

The method for using these test kits is based on the success of SPPGs managed by the Indonesian National Police (INP), which have recorded zero cases of food poisoning.

In addition to closing kitchens, strict action will also be taken against BGN personnel who fail to meet established work standards.

"And for those personnel who fail to meet my high standards, I apologize, but I must remove them or revoke their PPPK ASN status," he emphasized.

Sudaryono emphasized that this action aims to protect the partnership of other SPPGs who have performed their duties optimally.

Meanwhile, regarding the continuation of the IDR 6 million per day incentive for SPPGs, BGN stated that further evaluation is still underway.
