inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Sudaryono, stated that Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) located near the earthquake disaster site in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) must be on standby and adjust their services to help meet the food needs of affected communities.

"SPPGs affected by the disaster must prioritize safety and report the situation to the relevant parties. Meanwhile, nearby SPPGs whose operations are not affected can adjust their services, including helping to provide food for affected communities and vulnerable groups around the disaster area," he said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday (8/18/2026).

Sudaryono also asked all BGN and SPPG staff to follow the official and confirmed information and not make decisions based on their own assumptions.

Meanwhile, the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture recommended that the regional government in NTT immediately form a disaster management task force to expedite and ensure equitable coordination for survivors of the 7.7 magnitude earthquake in the region.

Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Pratikno stated that the formation of regional task forces is a crucial step, considering that evacuation centers are not concentrated in one location, but are spread across various affected areas.

"We are pushing for the immediate formation of regional task forces, as evacuation centers are located in several locations. Furthermore, we see that the evacuees still have basic needs that must be met," said Pratikno.
