inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Indonesian Bank (BI) says that the foreign exchange reserves position of the Republic of Indonesia (RI) at the end of September 2024 remained high at 149.9 billion US dollars, relatively stable compared to the position at the end of August 2024 of 150.2 billion US dollars.

"The development of foreign exchange reserves is influenced by, among other things, the government's foreign debt payments," said the Executive Director of the BI Communication Department, Ramdan Denny Prakoso, on Monday (10/7/2024).

The position of foreign exchange reserves at the end of September 2024 was equivalent to financing 6.6 or 6.4 months of imports and government foreign debt payments, and was above the international adequacy standard of around three months of imports.

BI assesses that these foreign exchange reserves are able to support the resilience of the external sector and maintain macroeconomic and financial system stability. In the future, Bank Indonesia views foreign exchange reserves will remain adequate to support the resilience of the external sector.
