The Biak Numfor Sub-Regional Police held the Operation Lilin Cartenz 2023 deployment ceremony at the Taruna Bhayangkara Field on Thursday (12/21/23), attended by personnel from the INP, Indonesian Military , National Search and Rescue Agency, Mobile Brigade, and the Transportation Department. Police Superintendent Damianus Dedy Susanto, the Chief of the Biak Numfor Sub-Regional Police, said, "The ceremony serves as a final check for the readiness of personnel and infrastructure to be used during the operation. We aim for the optimal execution of all security activities for the Christmas and New Year celebrations." He emphasized that securing Christmas and New Year celebrations is a routine duty ensuring a safe, comfortable, and smooth celebration, echoing President Joko Widodo's emphasis. "I extend my sincere thanks and highest appreciation to all security personnel and other security partners, as well as everyone supporting Operation Lilin 2023," he said. The ceremony ended with the destruction of confiscated evidence, including seized alcoholic beverages from security operations preceding the Christmas 2023 and New Year 2024 celebrations.
