Inp.polri.go.id - Biak. Biak Numfor Sub-regional Police deployed 36 female officers to provide trauma healing for residents affected by a bomb explosion believed to be a World War II remnant on 31 May 2026 that killed six people, left three missing, and damaged nine homes.
Biak Numfor Police Deputy Chief Senior Inspector Jebelina Walli said the officers were divided into three groups to conduct daily trauma healing sessions at two shelters.
“This is the Indonesian National Police’s concern for the psychological condition of the community. Through a humanist approach, we hope to restore a sense of safety and reduce trauma,” she said on Wednesday (3/6/2026).
Activities included games and singing with children, along with distribution of snacks and basic needs. Sessions were held at the Biak Numfor Satpol-PP office and Hotel Mapia from 9 am to 5 pm loal time. Police continue to provide assistance and support for affected families.
