Inp.polri.go.id - Tangerang. The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) uncovered a clandestine methamphetamine production site inside a 20th-floor apartment unit in Cisauk, Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday (18/10/2025).
Two suspects, identified as IM and DF, were arrested at the scene.
“Suspect IM acted as the chemist while suspect DF handled distribution. Both are repeat offenders. We seized one kilogram of meth in both liquid and solid form,” said BNN Chief Commissioner General Suyudi Ario, as quoted by antaranews.com.
The raid, conducted in coordination with the Directorate General of Customs, followed surveillance that began on Friday afternoon. Investigators also found chemical precursors and lab equipment used to produce meth.
Suyudi said that the suspects earned around Rp 1 billion (USD 60,000) over six months. They reportedly extracted ephedrine from 15,000 asthma pills to produce one kilogram of pure substance, with all materials purchased online.
Both face multiple charges under Indonesia’s Narcotics Law No. 35/2009, carrying penalties from five years in prison to the death sentence.
