Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Narcotics Agency (BNN) enhanced collaboration with the Supreme Prosecutors' Office of South Korea in preventing and tackling drug trafficking during a meeting at the BNN office
BNN Secretary-General, Tantan Sulistyana, said on Tuesday (30/4/2024) that its longstanding partnership with the South Korean Supreme Prosecutors' Office has started since the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2010.
This agreement established the Asia-Pacific Information and Coordination Center for drug crime prevention and control, according to antaranews.com.
Through the MoU, the South Korean Supreme Prosecutors' Office has provided support to BNN with equipment and assistance in combating drug trafficking, Tantan explained.
Discussions also revolved around an Official Development Assistance (ODA) program aimed at enhancing Indonesia's drug control capacity, proposed by the South Korean Supreme Prosecutors' Office, he added.
BNN plans to explore this opportunity further to strengthen cooperation in combating drug abuse and trafficking in the country.
