Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) asked for the support of all parties for the renewal of Presidential Decree regarding preventive national action and countering violent extremism that leads to terrorism of 2025-2029 (RAN PE).
“BNPT asked for the support of all parties, so that the renewal of Presidential Decree of RAN PE 2025-2029 could go smoothly,” says the Main Secretary of BNPT, Bangbang Surono on Friday (3/22/2024).
Bangbang explains that the support meant a lot for guaranteeing the people of Indonesia is free from violent extremism that leads to terrorism.
As of 2023, the ministry/institutional members of RAN PE have executed 122 of 135 actions. Meanwhile, 83 action programs from the Civil Organization (OMS) has been implemented with a total of 5,115 program beneficiaries.
Bangbang assessed the implementation of RAN PE has successfully support the birth of policies in thwarting violent extremism led to terrorism in regional level.
“In regional level, so far there are eight provinces and seven regencies/cities that have resolved the extremism issue,” said Bangbang.
BNPT previously has released seven priority programs in 2024 to build public sustainability and awareness from extremist ideology. Four priority programs include women, children and youth empowerment programs; formation of prepared villages; establishment of peace schools; and the establishment of a national campus.
The various programs dedicated to build public sustainability, particularly for women, children and teenagers so that they are able to repel, prevent, and fight against the violent ideology.
