Head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) Commissioner-General Boy Rafli Amar visited the East Java Regional Police (Polda Jatim) to establish cooperation in counter-terrorism in the East Java region. The arrival of the Head of BNPT was warmly welcomed by the East Java Police Chief (Kapolda Jatim) Inspector General Nico Afinta and the Deputy Chief of the East Java Police (Wakapolda Jatim) Brigadier General Slamet Hadi Supraptoyo at the Tribrata Building, second floor, East Java Regional Police. The head of the BNPT said that he had made special efforts to deal with terrorism and radicalism, by increasing prevention activities and preparation to face the ideals of violence-based terrorism in East Java, in order to protect the state. "It is hoped that in the future, the BNPT and Polda Jatim can continue to cooperate in dealing with radicalism and terrorism in East Java," he explained. Furthermore, Inspector General Nico Afinta said that his party will support and follow up on all programs related to handling and combating radicalism and terrorism in East Java by BNPT. "Social media is an important part in dealing with radicalism and terrorism. Polda Jatim will continue to discuss and coordinate regarding the news management or information delivery to the public. Both through the Public Relations of the Police, the Information Office of the Regional Military Command, the Kominfo Service of the Provincial Government, as well as Journalism Organizations in East Java," stated the Kapolda. Inspector General Nico Afinta explained that the activities that have been carried out by Polda Jatim in dealing with radicalism and terrorism are carrying out education, preventive measures, and law enforcement activities by cooperating with all elements in the society.
