inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) Eddy Hartono is committed to improve the deradicalization program through entrepreneurship development as an implementation of Law Number 5 of 2018.
"We continue to carry out deradicalization programs through national, religious, and entrepreneurial training and insights," said the Head of BNPT on Wednesday (4/16/2025).
In realizing the goal, BNPT collaborates with various parties who are able to support the rehabilitation of terrorism convicts, which are later called partners.
“There are more than 20 partners that want to support this program. We are happy to follow up this initiation with the Surabaya Leadership Coordination Forum in developing the convicts' entrepreneurship,” says Hakim on Wednesday (4/16/2025).
In providing the capital, BNPT also collaborates with the National Zakat Agency (Baznas) which has a business capital assistance program and scholarships for deradicalization partners.
"Hopefully, deradicalization partners can live independently through these programs," he added.
Regarding the challenges, the Head of BNPT acknowledged that reintegration of deradicalization partners into society is not always easy.
"Entrepreneurial interests do vary. Some feel less suited to trading or farming. However, we continue to assist them so that they can pursue appropriate fields," he said.
The entrepreneurship program, he continued, has been part of BNPT's deradicalization strategy since its inception. Its development has also fluctuated following the situation on the ground.
