inp.polri.go.id - West sumatra. The joint force of South Solok Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit raided illegal gold mine in Bulat Hill, Jorong Sungai Ipuh, on Tuesday (4/15/2025).
The raid was led by the Head Unit Second Police Inspector Henki Saputra and accompanied by the First Police Inspector Taufik Indra.
Head of South Solok Sub-regional Police Criminal Investigation Unit, Senior Police Inspector Hilmi Manossoh Prayugo, confirms the raid.
“It is true. On Tuesday, April 15th, 2025, we have successfully secured 10 illegal gold miners at two different locations,” says Hilmi.
Hilmi says that the police team had to trek the hills of 3 to 4 kilometers by foot from Muara Labuh-Padang freeway to get to the location. The trip took about four hours.
“After going for four hours, the joint force arrived at the location and saw the ongoing illegal mining activities. The team then moved quickly to arrest the suspects,” says Hilmi.
Hilmi continues that his parties have arrested each five miners at two different mining locations, owned respectively by SN and AS.
"Currently, the suspects and evidence are being held at the South Solok Sub-regional Police for further investigation. Suspects will be charged with Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 3 of 2020 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining, Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 7 of 2014 concerning Trade, Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 9 of 2008 concerning the Use of Chemicals with a prison sentence of up to 5 years and a maximum fine of IDR 100 billion." concluded Hilmi.
