inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Head of the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT), Eddy Hartono, emphasized the importance of understanding the duties and sensitivity of BNPT Civil Servant Candidates (CPNS) for the 2024 Fiscal Year.

He highlighted the dynamics of popular culture, or pop culture, which is currently growing rapidly in society and is widely captured on social media.

"These changing trends need to be anticipated and carefully monitored by BNPT CPNS," said the Head of BNPT on Friday (August 15, 2025).

The Head of BNPT also emphasized the importance of CPNS understanding the duties and functions of BNPT as mandated by Law Number 5 of 2018 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Terrorism, specifically Articles 43F and 43G.

Article 43F states that BNPT functions to formulate and establish national policies, strategies, and programs in the field of counterterrorism; coordinate national policies, strategies, and programs in the field of counterterrorism; and implementing national preparedness, counter-radicalization, and deradicalization.

Furthermore, Article 43G stipulates that in carrying out the functions referred to in Article 43F, the BNPT is tasked with formulating, coordinating, and implementing national counterterrorism policies, strategies, and programs in the areas of national preparedness, counter-radicalization, and deradicalization.

The Head of BNPT emphasized that knowledge of the legal basis and institutional functions is a fundamental requirement for every BNPT employee.

"CPNS please understand the duties and functions of the BNPT, as you serve within the BNPT, not elsewhere," he said.
