Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) plans to deploy anti-drone systems around Indonesia’s strategic vital objects to prevent potential terror attacks using unmanned aircraft.
BNPT Chief Commissioner General Eddy Hartono said on Monday (1/12/2025) the measure is part of efforts to mitigate emerging threats driven by rapid technological advancement.
“The threat landscape is evolving, especially with new technology, so we must anticipate the misuse of drones,” he said, as cited by antaranews.com.
Chief Eddy stressed that safeguarding strategic vital objects is crucial because any breach by terrorists could severely impact national defense and the economy. Strategic vital objects include key sites, facilities, and operations essential to public welfare, state interests, and national revenue.
