inp.polri.go.id - Batang. Batang Sub-regional Police have uncovered a case involving the discovery of a body in a well. Three suspects have been arrested in this case: AT alias Casmo (23), SGY (29), and YOG (19).

Batang Sub-regional Police Chief, Superintendent Edi Rahmat Mulyana, stated that the case began when suspect AT (23) became jealous of his girlfriend, identified as LLS (22). At that time, the suspect received a chat message from the victim via social media.

"The suspect then replied to the victim's chat using LLS's social media account and invited them to meet behind Wonotunggal Market," he said, as quoted by Antara, Monday (8/11/2025).

Unsuspecting the invitation, the victim went to the location. During the meeting, suspect AT also brought two of his friends.

"The suspect then challenged the victim, Ahmad Mughni Sodik (25), a resident of Pekalongan Regency, to a duel while his two friends watched the fight," he said.

According to him, AT won the duel and followed by further beating by the suspect and his friend, causing him to lose consciousness.

"When the victim fainted, the three perpetrators panicked and decided to throw him into a well not far from the scene. Then, to cover their tracks, the perpetrators took the victim's motorcycle and cellphone," he explained.

The three suspects were then charged under Articles 338, 365, and 170 of the Indonesian Criminal Code, which carry a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.
