inp.polri.go.id - Palembang. The panel of judges at the Palembang I-04 Military Court, South Sumatra, sentenced Corporal Bazarsah to death for the shooting of three police officers at a cockfighting venue in Way Kanan Regency, Lampung.
Presiding Judge Fredy Ferdian Isnartanto stated that the defendant was proven legally and convincingly guilty of murder. In addition to the murder charge, he was also found guilty of illegal possession of firearms and sharp weapons and gambling.
"We sentence the defendant to the death penalty and dismiss him from military service," explained Presiding Judge Fredy, as quoted by RRI on Monday (8/11/2025).
The defendant was also found guilty of stealing ammunition from his unit for his illegal weapons and running a cockfighting and dice gambling business. Therefore, the panel of judges deemed these actions a betrayal of the Indonesian National Military (TNI) soldier's duties, misuse of his firearms permit, and damage to the TNI's public image.
"The defendant's actions contradict military interests and undermine the synergy and solidarity between the TNI, Polri, and the community," the judge stated.
