Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Benny Rhamdani, Chairman of the Indonesian Agency for Migrant Workers (BP2MI), has praised Indonesian Police Chief (INP) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo's commitment to eradicating human trafficking. Under Presidential Regulation No. 69 of 2008, later amended by Presidential Regulation No. 22 of 2021, the government established the Task Force for the Prevention and Handling of Human Trafficking Crimes. Recently, the leadership of this task force was changed from the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection to the Chief of the INP. T "We are grateful that since the INP Chief took over, 900 suspects have been arrested and about 3,000 people have been rescued and are almost ready to leave for overseas," tBennyI said in a written statement on Monday (18/12/23). He expected that the arrest of traffickers will extend to the level of masterminds and syndicates. "Those arrested so far are like small fish. We hope that the masterminds and syndicates that control human trafficking will really be touched by the law," Benny said. (mg/ay/pr/nm)
