inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Head of the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) Ahmad Haikal Hasan emphasized the importance of implementing halal standards in every process of providing food for the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program.
"We want to ensure that all MBG kitchens maintain high halal standards," said the Head of BPJPH on Monday (4/21/2025).
He said this was important considering the foods are for school children who are in their growth period.
Haikal added that products such as milk and other food ingredients must be guaranteed halal, as a form of protection and certainty for beneficiaries.
"Halal and good food will have a positive impact on the growth and development and concentration of children's learning," said Haikal
Meanwhile, BPJPH has also reviewed the process of providing MBG menus in the kitchen belonging to the Salman Peduli Berkarya Foundation in Pulogebang, Cakung District, East Jakarta.
This kitchen is one of the partners providing MBG for students of Pulogebang 06 and 07 Elementary Schools. BPJPH witnessed firsthand the process of processing and distributing food to classes, while ensuring that the food was cooked from halal and quality ingredients.
"I am very impressed. This kitchen is clean, safe, and the menu is complete, containing carbohydrates, protein, vegetables, milk, and vitamins. The food prepared is not only nutritious but also halal," concludes Haikal
