Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. North Sumatra Regional Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers deployed Armoured Water Cannon (AWC) vehicles to clear thick volcanic ash along Lau Kawar Street, Simpang Empat District, Karo Regency, on Wednesday (2/9/2026).
Led by First Inspector Binner Sitorus, the unit washed down key roadways following the eruption of Mount Sinabung to reduce airborne dust and restore safe travel conditions for local residents.
"Brimob's presence among the community is a manifestation of devotion and care. In disaster situations, we are committed to providing assistance and taking steps to help reduce the impacts caused," North Sumatra Brimob Senior Superintendent Officer M. Rendra Salipu said.
The road-washing operation forms part of ongoing humanitarian aid efforts by Brimob officers stationed under the Karo Police to assist affected communities during post-eruption recovery.
