Inp.polri.go.id - Karo. The North Sumatra Regional Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) deployed a drone team to monitor Mount Sinabung eruptive activity from Sukandebi Village, Naman Teran District, Karo Regency, on Wednesday (2/9/2026).

Led by Assistant  Second Inspector Cartomo, the ICT Section unit conducted aerial surveillance of volcanic ash emissions while ensuring the safety of nearby residents, particularly young children playing in affected areas. Parents were advised to supervise children, use face masks during ashfall, and strictly follow official safety directives.

"We continue to monitor the situation of Mount Sinabung from various angles. Our top priority is public safety," North Sumatra Brimob Commander Senior Superintendent M. Rendra Salipu said. "We urge parents to keep children away from hazardous zones and follow instructions from officers."

The aerial operation forms part of Brimob's ongoing disaster preparedness strategy to maintain public safety around the active volcano.
