Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Mobile Brigade (Brimob) Unit of the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police deployed tactical Armored Water Cannon (AWC) vehicles and officers to clean road surfaces and distribute masks across Jakarta, South Tangerang, and Bekasi on Sunday (6/9/2026).
Battalions A, B, C, and D deployed 6,000-liter capacity water cannons to douse major thoroughfares, including Horse Statue, Bundaran HI roundabout, Cipinang, Pondok Cabe, and Cikarang—preventing settled Mount Anak Krakatau volcanic ash from recirculating in traffic.
Officers distributed protective masks to pedestrians and drivers while broadcasting health advisories through loudspeakers to urge residents to wear face coverings and limit non-essential outdoor travel.
"We deployed officers and tactical assets to mitigate volcanic material exposure and protect public health," said Brimob Commander Senior Superintendent Henik Maryanto.
He also advised motorists to reduce speed on affected roads and follow official developments regarding volcanic activity.
