Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Mobile Brigade (Brimob) officers from the Jakarta Metro Jaya Regional Police joined residents in a cleanup effort following a fire that destroyed dozens of homes in Kwitang, Senen, Central Jakarta, on Thursday.
“Brimob is here not only to maintain security but also to support communities in times of crisis,” said Brimob Commander Senior Superintendent Henik Maryanto on Saturday (18/6/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
The fire, reportedly caused by an electrical short circuit, destroyed around 27 houses. One person suffered a hand injury and affected residents are currently staying in emergency tents provided by Jakarta’s Social Affairs Office.
“This cleanup shows the strong cooperation between police and the community to speed up recovery and revive the spirit of solidarity,” Commander Henik added.
The fire broke out on Jalan Kembang XI and quickly spread through a densely populated neighborhood.
