Inp.polri.go.id - Lombok.   A 47-year-old Malaysian climber was rescued after slipping while descending Mount Rinjani in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, on Saturday morning (28/62025).

“The victim slipped while heading to Segara Anak Lake after reaching the summit,” said East Lombok Sub-regional Police Head of Public Relations uNit First Inspector Nicolas Oesman, as quoted by antaranews.com.

The climber, identified as Nazril, sustained minor injuries, including bruises on his right leg, hip pain, and a head scrape. He was assisted down the mountain by fellow climbers and porters before being taken to Sembalun Community Health Center for medical treatment.

“The victim has been evacuated and is receiving proper medical care,” Chief Oesman confirmed.

Nazril was part of a 13-member hiking group that began the climb via the Kandang Sapi trail on June 26. The accident occurred as he tried to avoid a group of porters along a narrow descent path.

Local authorities continue to remind hikers to remain cautious on the mountain’s steep and crowded trails, which had claimed the life of Brazilian climber Juliana Marins.
