In efforts to maintain security stability, personnel from the Brimob Task Force Sulteng ODC-2024, led by First Inspector Muhammad Kasim Lating conducted security patrols around Kiwirok District, Bintang Mountains Regency, on Tuesday (6/2/2024). He explained that the purpose of the patrols was to anticipate security disturbances in Papua, especially in Kiwirok District, and to provide a sense of security to the local residents ahead of the 2024 elections. "The residents of Kiwirok District responded positively to the presence of the task force personnel, and they were informed to immediately report any presence of armed criminal groups  or suspicious individuals to the military and police authorities," Chief Kasim said. He urged locals not to be provoked by individuals or groups seeking to create tensions among the local comunity. (mg/ri/pr/nm)
