The British national, identified as Adam Alexander Murray, was arrested by the police on Tuesday. He was charged charged under Article 352 of the Criminal for a minor assault offense. On Friday, he was found guilty by the Denpasar District Court and sentenced to one month in prison with a three-month probationary period.
Murray entered the country on Visa on Arrival in August
Ngurah Rai Immigration cited Article 75, Paragraph 1 of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration as the basis for deportation. He has since been listed in the immigration blacklist.
The incident, which involved Adam assaulting a traffic police officer who had stopped him for a traffic violation, gained widespread attention on social media.
