Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. - South Jakarta Metro Police have apprehended 941 motorcyclists during a week-long Operation Zebra 2023, aimed at improving traffic discipline.
Of these, 885 received warnings, while 56 faced electronic ticketing (E-TLE) penalties, according to Senior Superintendent Ade Ary, Chief of South Jakarta Metro Police as reported by antaranews.com.
The police also engaged in 753 socialization or outreach activities, and the installation of banners as well as the distribution of pamphlets, amounting to 1,165 pieces. The efforts were expected to lower the rates of accidents leading to material or human casualties.
"It all starts with oneself, which is traffic discipline and order," Chief Ade said on Saturday (23/9/2023), adding that the operation would focus on enhancing individual responsibility and traffic order.
The remaining operation time will focus on education and awareness.
Jakarta Metropolitan Police hasdeployed 2,939 personnel for the two-week "Operation Zebra Jaya 2023" operation, prioritizing an educative and humane approach supported by electronic traffic law enforcement.
