According to him, the technology disruption, particularly the latest tech, gives opportunity for improving journalism. “The Associated Press (AP), one of the office news in United States who is able to improve their article production every quarter to 12 times more. From 300 to 3,700 with the help of AI technology,” says Budi Arie, Thursday (11/9/2023). He says several reports says automation through AI technology could highly improve the efficiency of journalism, such as news gathering, production, and distributions. Other than able to check information accuracy, AI could also filter interesting and actual topics. AI could also write interview transcript from audio recording to text in an instant. Arie believe that audio transcript would take no time and could help further improving journalist efficiency. “I still remember when I was still a journalists, I still record with cassette, and even more so my transcript is no better,” says Arie reminiscing.
