Football Association of Indonesia Chair, Erick Thohir believe that the opening match ticket of FIFA U-17 World Cup would be sold out. “They say it would sell out, well if it is then I thank you, it proves that Indonesia are able to hold such prestigious event,” says Erick, Thursday (11/9/2023). The remarks of Erick could be seen as his demonstration of high optimism as selling out around 25,000, 42,000, even 82,000 tickets are no easy task. He explains that FIFA has also set the target of minimum 10,000 spectators. The target was based on previous host which has smaller stadium than the ones in Indonesia. “FIFA says that 10,000 is already good enough, because previous hosts only able to sold 5,000, 7,000, 12,000, while we have bigger stadium than those. We have to prove that Indonesia has better infrastructure,” adds Erick. The world cup in Indonesia would be held in four stadiums. The stadiums are Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium, Jakarta International Stadium, Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, and Manahan Stadium. The opening ceremony would be held on Friday (11/10/2023) at Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium. (ad/ay/pr/nm)
