inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The National Logistics Agency (Bulog) has stated its commitment to not import rice in 2025. This step aligns with the President's directive to maximize domestic production.
Bulog will empower farmers to meet the national rice reserve requirement. This commitment is part of efforts towards sustainable food self-sufficiency.
"And we are committed to not importing rice, in accordance with the directives of the President. We will maximize imports, and we will empower ourselves to achieve food self-sufficiency," said Bulog's President Director Ahmad Rizal Ramdhani, as quoted on the Ministry of Home Affairs' YouTube channel on Tuesday (7/15/2025).
Bulog has so far collected 2.76 million tons of rice from domestic procurement throughout 2025. The Bulog President Director stated that this figure is derived from the absorption of unhusked rice and rice.
Of this amount, Bulog directly absorbed 3.7 million tons of dry unhusked rice. Bulog also purchased 726,000 tons of rice to replenish the government's reserve stock.
