The official of Indonesian National Police (INP) Traffic Corps, Police Assistant Superintendent Sandhi Wiedyanoe, stated that the review is necessary to determine an appropriate investigative strategy.
"Of course, a case review will be held first. This will ensure an appropriate investigative strategy. It will likely be held next week," he explained, as quoted on Thursday (4/30/2026).
He added that investigators are focusing on two main aspects: the alleged negligence of the Green SM electric taxi driver, which triggered the incident, and the local government's obligation regarding the presence of a barrier at the level crossing on Ampera street, East Bekasi. The investigation is being conducted by the Bekasi City Sub-regional Metro Police Traffic Unit.
"The investigation conducted by the Bekasi City Sub-regional Metro Police Traffic Unit investigators will likely focus on the driver's negligence and the Bekasi City Government's obligation to provide railroad crossings in accordance with the Railway Law," he said.
