Inp.polri.go.id - Demak. The Central Java Regional Police have mobilized personnel to safeguard homes affected by floods. Their mission is to prevent theft and other crimes that often occur when homeowners evacuate. "Our patrols, including Brimob and Polair units with vehicles, will be vigilant," said Central Java Police Chief Irjen Pol. Ahmad Lutfi on Sunday (17/3/2024), referring to the Mobile Brigade and Water and Air Police. Lutfi advised flood-affected residents to leave non-essential items behind due to inaccessible routes, as reported by antaranews.com. "Remain calm and follow the officers' instructions for your safety," he said. Accompanied by the IV Diponegoro Regional Military Command's Commander, Major General Deddy Suryadi, Kudus Chief of Police Super Intendent Dydit Dwi Susanto, and Kudus District Military Commander Lieutenant ColonelĀ  Andreas Yudhi Wibowo, Lutfi inspected the area. In addition to ensuring residents' safety, the Central Java Police and Military Command expedited embankment closures. Personnel from both local and Central Java Police involved in the effort to close the breached left embankment of the Wulan River, which occurred around 2.20 am on Sunday, aiming to facilitate faster flood receding. The Wulan River's left embankment collapsed due to the water level surpassing its height, causing water overflow and further erosion. The new breach spans approximately 20 meters. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
