Central Java Regional Police Ready to Secure 3,000 Churches During Christmas Celebration

Central Java Regional Police held a security force rally with the Armed Forces personnel and other related institution to secure more than 3,000 churches during Christmas celebration, either open or closed security. Chief of Central Java Regional Police, Police Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi, explained that his personnel, Armed Forces, and other public elements would guarantee security to the Christians conducting Christmas Mass in church. Chief of Regional Police explained that what the personnel conducted at the Christmas celebration was to provide security and comfort during worship for the Christians, including ensuring Health Protocols are enforced in church. According to the Chief of Regional Police, the church administrators could also ensure the worshipping congregations feel safe and comfortable because of Health Protocols being enforced, starting from providing hand-washing and hand-sanitising points congregation limitation in the church. "For activities during the Christmas worship, we are securing 3,000 churches by providing a security guarantee for our brothers and sisters during Christmas celebrations and in accordance with the government regulation such as half capacity and Health Protocols enforcement. We are building a joint security post consisting of Police personnel and the church administrators to provide security guarantee to the worshippers", the Chief of Regional Police said. Furthermore, the Chief of Regional Police asked the public to help control Covid-19 cases during the Christmas celebration to prevent new Covid-19 cases in Central Java after Christmas and New Year celebrations. "From the operation pattern we are conducting, I also asked the press colleagues to campaign so that people always enforce Health Protocols to prevent Covid-19 transmission", he concluded. (my/bq/hy)
