inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. North Sumatra Regional Police received awards as the best in handling corruption offences during the Anti-Corruption Day Commemoration in the Hotel Royal Kuningan, Jakarta, on Thursday (9/12).
The award was received by Chief of North Sumatra Regional Police, Police Inspector General RZ Panca Putra Simanjuntak, which was handed directly by Head of Corruption Eradication Commission, Police General Commissioner (Ret) Firli Bahuri.
Chief of North Sumatra Regional Police, in accompanying the work visit of the Indonesian Vice President, stated that the award received by North Sumatra Regional Police thanks to the corruption case exposed in North Sumatra.
"Thank you for the support given by the public to North Sumatra Regional Police in preventing and eradicating corruption offences. The award was received by Deputy Chief because, at the same tie, I accompany the visit of Vice President in Simalungun regency", Chief of Regional Police said.
In 2021, North Sumatra Regional Police successfully exposed corruption offences that grabbed public attention, such as vaccine selling and UINSU building construction cases. Other cases are the corruption of rent retribution deposit of Lau Cih market and agricultural land tax corruption in North and South Labuhan Batu regency.
"In the discovery of 12 corruption offences, 37 people are named as suspects, and we managed to save Rp21.97 billion of the state budget. The case files of 22 suspects are classified as finished", Chief of Regional Police said.
The World Anti-Corruption Day Commemoration is a global movement to campaign world citizen awareness on anti-corruption culture.
"North Sumatra Regional Police would keep enforcing prevention and eradication of corruption offences in North Sumatra. I hope that people could keep helping North Sumatra Regional Police in fighting against corruption as it is an extraordinary crime", Chief of Regional Police concluded.
