Inp.polri.go.id - Palangkaraya. Central Kalimantan Regional Police has placed 500 personnel on alert under Operation Aman Nusa-II to anticipate potential forest and land fires (karhutla) as the dry season intensifies, authorities announced on Tuesday (21/7/2026).

Central Kalimantan Police Chief Inspector General Iwan Kurniawan led the readiness roll call in Palangkaraya to inspect both officers and field equipment.

"I want to ensure that all involved officers and operational infrastructure are fully prepared," Chief Iwan said, adding that police will strengthen inter-agency coordination with the military, local administration and local offices like BPBD and Manggala Agni to optimize emergency response.

He emphasized that prevention remains the main priority through public outreach spearheaded by Bhabinkamtibmas, Babinsa, and Fire Care Community groups.

The Central Kalimantan Police is also stepping up land and air patrols across vulnerable zones, with precinct chiefs instructed to utilize helicopter aerial monitoring to accelerate hotspot detection and rapid mitigation.
