Inp.polri.go.id - Palu. The Central Sulawesi Police have officially ended Operation Madago Raya as of 31  December 2025, marking a strategic shift in regional security management after years of counterterrorism efforts.

“The conclusion of Operation Madago Raya is part of a strategic evaluation to adapt security measures to a more stable situation,” Central Sulawesi Police Chief Inspector General Endi Sutendi said on Thursday (1/1/2026), as quoted by antaranews.com

The decision came after an assessment of improved security conditions in former operation areas, including Poso and surrounding districts. Operation Madago Raya, which evolved from Operation Tinombala in 2021, emphasized prevention, community engagement, and deradicalization alongside law enforcement.

Despite the operation’s conclusion, police patrols and security measures will continue through Enhanced Routine Activities conducted by local police units under full the Central Sulawesi Police supervision. Authorities confirmed that counterterrorism vigilance remains in place, with preventive and preemptive approaches prioritized.

Throughout 2025, deradicalization programs reportedly helped more than 100 former terrorism convicts and sympathizers reintegrate into society, reinforcing long-term stability in Central Sulawesi.
