inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Minister of Manpower Yassierli emphasized that professional certification services must be easily accessible to the wider public, affordable, and inclusive of all groups, including people with disabilities.

"Certification is not the privilege of a select few. Every citizen, including people with disabilities, has an equal opportunity to obtain decent work and contribute to the national economy," said the Minister of Manpower on Thursday (1/15/2026).

He further requested the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP) to strengthen inclusive professional certification services. Yassierli believes that professional certification is important as it produces a work competency certificate, which is proof that someone has the ability to work according to standards.

This proof of ability, Yassierli continued, can help workers feel more confident in competing and open up wider job opportunities.

"Therefore, access to certification must be fair and non-discriminatory. Vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, need to be involved so that decent employment opportunities can be more evenly distributed and do not give rise to social jealousy," said the Minister of Manpower.

Yassierli added that his ministry and the National Agency for National Development Planning (BNSP) play a crucial role in ensuring the proper recognition of work competencies.

He explained that work competency certificates are issued through the Professional Certification Institute (LSP), an institution that conducts competency tests in specific fields.

"Work competency certificates serve as proof of competency recognition, strengthening competitiveness and opening up broader job opportunities. This is an important foundation for enhancing national competitiveness on the global stage," the Minister said.
