Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Heavy rainfall since Saturday afternoon flooded five neighborhood units and three major roads across Jakarta early Sunday (18/1/2026), prompting disaster mitigation measures by local authorities.
The Jakarta Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported flooding at 6 am affecting North, West, and East Jakarta due to high rainfall intensity and water runoff.
“Residents are urged to remain vigilant and immediately contact Jakarta Siaga 112 if emergency conditions arise,” said BPBD Jakarta Head of Disaster Data and Information Mohamad Yohan, as quoted by antaranews.com
The floods hit one neighborhood unit in Ancol, North Jakarta, three neighborhood units in Kedaung Kali Angke, West Jakarta, and one neighborhood unit in Rawa Terate, East Jakarta, with water levels ranging from 25 to 60 centimeters. Three roads in West Jakarta, including Pangeran Tubagus Angke and Green Garden areas, were also inundated, disrupting traffic flow.
Authorities confirmed no fatalities and said drainage clearance was underway, including at Pondok Kelapa Public Cemetery, where water briefly submerged several graves before receding.
