Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited the Istana Presiden of Indonesia in Jakarta to meet with President Joko Widodo. Prior to meeting with the most important person in Indonesia, Yi initially met with his counterpart, Minister Retno in her office.
In their meeting, the two foreign ministers discussed about strengthening their collaboration in the economic sector, particularly in investment, industrial downstream, energy transition, food sustainability, and infrastructures.
In her remarks, China is one of the most important trade partners of Indonesia with a trade volume reaching 127 billion USD. Furthermore, China is also one of Indonesia biggest investors with a total investment value reaching more than 7.4 billion USD in 2023.
On the other hand, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian says that the visit of Yi to Indonesia is to strengthen the cooperation in the framework of Belt and Road Initiative.
It was reported that Yi will visit Cambodia and Papua New Guinea after his visit to Jakarta.
