Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. A viral Facebook post claiming that Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara announced the reintroduction of tuition fees for public schools starting in 2027 is false.
Fact-checking investigations confirmed that no official statements were made regarding the reintroduction of public school tuition fees. While Minister Suahasil previously noted that no separate new budget line was created for free public school programs, he reaffirmed that the initiative will continue under the designated education budget in the 2027 Draft State Budget (RAPBN).
The 2027 education allocation reaches 20.07 percent of the national budget, approximately Rp824 trillion, which is structured to maximize public benefits, including supporting free public education.
In addition, Primary and Secondary Education Minister Abdul Mu'ti confirmed that public education from kindergarten through senior high school and vocational levels remains entirely tuition-free.
