The clarification follows a fact-check investigation into the post titled "VIDEO OF INDONESIAN VICE PRESIDENT (GIBRAN RAKABUMING) RESIGNATION STATEMENT."

Investigators traced the footage back to a video published on the Solo Times YouTube channel on Tuesday, 16 July 2024. The original recording actually depicts Gibran submitting his resignation letter as Mayor of Solo to the leaders of the Surakarta legislative council.

In addition, keyword searches on major search engines yielded no credible news or official statements supporting claims of Gibran resigning from his post as Vice President of Indonesia
