inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) began conducting a fit and proper test for Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto as the candidate for Chief of the Indonesian National Police (INP) on Thursday (10/1/2026).

The fit and proper test was held openly at the DPR RI Building in Jakarta and began at approximately 9:10 a.m. The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of Commission III, Habiburokhman.

Suyudi underwent the process as the proposed candidate for Chief of INP to replace General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Before opening the meeting, Habiburokhman explained that the DPR RI leadership had received a letter from President Prabowo Subianto regarding the proposed dismissal and appointment of the Chief of INP on September 30, 2026.

The President's letter then served as the basis for the DPR to process Suyudi's nomination through the fit and proper test mechanism at Commission III.

"Therefore, in accordance with the recently held DPR RI Consultative Body Meeting, a few minutes ago today, Commission III was tasked with conducting a fit and proper test on Commissioner General Suyudi Ario Seto," said Habiburokhman.

During this process, Commission III of the DPR RI will examine Suyudi's vision, mission, and readiness to lead INP. The fit and proper test is also a crucial step before the DPR makes a decision regarding the approval of the National Police Chief candidate.

The results of the fit and proper test will then be discussed by the DPR in determining the decision to nominate Suyudi as INP Chief.
