Inp.polri.go.id – Jakarta. Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) blocked 425,506 online gambling content in the last three months. The action in collaboration with the Indonesian National Police (INP) and related stakeholders shows government commitment in eradication online gambling. “Since July 18th to October 18th, we have executed 425,506 online gambling contents. The 237,096 online gambling contents are from the IP address, 17,235 contents are through file sharing, and other 171,175 contents are from the social media,” says Kominfo Minister, Budi Arie Setiadi on his press conference statement on Friday (10/20/2023). He says that other preventive measures also been taken by the ministry by collaborating with internet providers. Through their collaboration, internet providers are asked to act quickly in blocking online gambling contents. He also conveys his full support for the Indonesian National Police to arrest all online gambling perpetrators involved, even down to just promoting the gambling. “Even that was not enough. Active role from the community in promoting anti-online gambling is necessary. Safeguard your family, friends, and people around you from online gambling is a concrete action in our war against online gambling,” he said. (ad/ay/pr/nm)
