The Search and Rescue (SAR) team in Mataram  has evacuated the body of a Turkish national on the shores of Torok Aik Belek Beach, Lombok Tengah Regency, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) on Sunday (22/10/2023). The head of the SAR Mataram Office, Lalu Wahyu Efendi, said that the deceased Turkish woman was identified as Deniz Yildirim, a 31-year-old. Her body was found at approximately 11:05 am. "The victim's body was directly taken to Bhayangkara Mataram Hospital," Lalu was quoted by antaranews.com as saying. The victim was reported missing while swimming alone at 5 am in front of a hotel located in the vicinity of Torok Aik Belek Beach.  One of the hotel staff witnessed the Turkish national drowning and promptly reported it to the SAR Mataram Office. The SAR operation involved personnel from the Indonesian Military, the Indonesian National Police (INP), local fishermen and local residents. (mg/inp/pr/nm)
