Inp.polri.go.id - Jakarta. The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs has summoned the developers of the Jagat app over the viral "Koin Jagat" game, which has led to damage to public facilities.
"We’ve called them for a discussion, and it's still ongoing," said Deputy Minister Nezar Patria on Wednesday (15/1/2025), as quoted by antaranews.com.
While he praised the app's innovation, he emphasized that the "Koin Jagat" treasure hunt game has caused harm, as users have damaged public property while searching for virtual coins. The developers have received complaints about this issue.
"Users might not realize their actions harm public facilities. We've informed the developers," Deputy Minister Nezar added.
The developers are considering changes to the game mechanics to prevent further damage and are exploring more educational alternatives. Deputy Minister Nezar confirmed there are no plans to shut down the app, as the Ministryi supports local innovation.
